The Symphonic Band will be performing “Synergies” by Robert Sheldon and will also give the world premiere performance of “Four Vermont Prints,” written specifically for the band by Dr. Gene Milford. Dr. Milford will also be on hand to conduct his composition.
The RHS Symphonic Band has commissioned composer Dr. Gene Milford to write a brand new piece of music for the 2009-2010 school year. The piece, entitled “Four Vermont Prints,” will be arriving soon and the RHS Band will perform the world premiere at the March 11 Music In Our Schools Month Band Concert.
Dr. Milford, senior lecturer in music education at The University of Akron, will be in Rutland in March to work with the band, as well as conduct the first performance.
Stay tuned for more details.
