Recent RHS Band News…

• March 11, 2010:  The RHS Symphonic Band will be giving the world premiere performance of “Four Vermont Prints,” written specially for the RHS Band by Gene Milford of The University of Akron.
• Congratulations to the 9 RHS Band Members that were selected, by audition, to participate in this year’s District Festival Symphonic Band!  The festival will be held on Friday, February 5 at Rutland Middle School.
• Congratulations to the 4 RHS Jazz Students that were selected, by audition, to participate in this year’s District Festival Jazz Ensemble!  This festival will be held on Friday, March 12 at Green Mountain College.

• Rutland is hosting this year’s Vermont All-State Music Festival May 5-8, 2010.  Lots of help will be needed to make this event successful (more details will be announced at January’s Music Boosters meeting).  If you are interested in housing one of the approximately 450 high school students, please contact us!
