On Wednesday, January 27, Rutland High School staff and students donned a hat for a good cause. The RHS chapter of the Green Mountain Teen Institute (RHS Special Educator Meaghan Marsh leads GMTI) organized the fundraiser – $1 for the privilege of wearing a hat – in order to help the relief efforts in earthquake-stricken Haiti. In total, the efforts raised over $500. GMTI will combine this money with similar fundraisers held across the district this week and next. RHS Special Educator Alison Remy will present one large check to the charity Hearts with Haiti, an organization with which she is associated from her volunteer efforts in Haiti in past years.
