Red Ribbon
Dear Parents,
The week of October 27-31 is Red Ribbon Week at Northwest and PPLC. The focal point of the week is on helping our students to make healthy choices. While many people tend to focus on the “say no to drugs” theme, the reality is that our students need to hear the message of always making healthy choices.
Healthy choices for young children can mean choosing healthy foods, asking for a smoke free environment, getting enough sleep, exercising the body and mind, living drug free and being safe and kind to others.
Red Ribbon Week Days
Monday: What is Red Ribbon? Kick-off Assembly with Rutland Area Prevention Council. Red Rally Day (Wear Red to school)
Tuesday: Sock it to Drugs Day! (Wear crazy socks to school)
Wednesday: Living Drug Free is No Sweat! (Wear sweat clothes to school)
Thursday: Shade out Drugs Day! (Wear sunglasses)
Friday: Say Boo to Drugs Day! (NW Halloween Parade, PPLC Mask Parade)
Please be a part of Red Ribbon Week and help your child learn about healthy choices!
Many thanks,
Kristin A. Hubert
