Rob Bliss served Rutland City Public Schools as the Principal of the Northwest Primary School and the Pierpoint Primary Learning Center from 2000 – 2007. Rob received his BS degree in Physical Education from Keene State College in New Hampshire in 1986 and an MA degree in Educational Leadership from Castleton State College in 1997.

Peter Amons serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the school district. Prior to joining the district in September 2004 he served as chief financial officer of a number of software and related technology companies including WebCredit of Needham, Massachusetts, Imaging Automation of Bedford, New Hampshire and DTSS Inc. of Hanover, New Hampshire.

Eloise (Ellie) McGarry has worked as the District Director of Support Services since 1992. Her department oversees and coordinates services for students identified for services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Section 504, Act 117, English as a Second Language, and McKinley Homeless Education Act.

Christy Coloutti is the Coordinator of Support Services for Birth-Grade 2. Since 2000, Christy has been part of the Rutland City Schools. She was a special educator, co-director of the community service club, district mentor, and team leader for Rutland Intermediate School.

Patricia serves as Director of Instructional Technology for the district. Her educational career has taken her across the country from Virginia to Vermont. Patricia’s experience includes teaching at the middle school level, serving as technology coordinator and finally technology director in Middlebury and now Rutland.

Robert Johnson has been the Principal of the Northeast Primary School since 2006. Prior to joining Rutland City, Bob had been an Elementary Principal in New York State since 1988. In addition to being a Principal, he was a District Mathematics-Science and Outdoor Education Coordinator for five (5) years and an elementary classroom teacher for twelve (12) years.

Jay Slenker is in his seventeenth year in the Rutland City Public School district. He has been a substitute teacher, paraeducator, Special Educator, classroom teacher, and Department Head. During this time as a classroom teacher, he developed a Psychology and Advanced Placement Psychology program for Rutland High School.

Jessica recently joined the administrative team at RIS. Prior to becoming an assistant principal, she served as the district’s Residential School Case Manager and Independent School Service Provider. She served as a Special Educator at Rutland Middle School for eleven years and a Special Educator at SUCCESS for two years.

Peter Miller joined the Rutland City Public Schools in 1998. He initiated and has led the stringed instrument and orchestra program, building a program of 200 students, the largest in the state. He is the Music Director for the Lakes Region Youth Orchestra, and teaches for Castleton State College.

Wil Cunningham has been the Principal of the Rutland Middle School for eight years. Wil graduated from Bucknell University with a degree in history. Later he earned a Masters in Instruction from SUNY at Albany. He also did post-graduate work in administration at NYU.

Kristin Holsman-Francoeur joined Rutland Middle School as the Assistant Principal in 2009. Prior to joining the administrative team at RMS, she served as one of the Assistant Principals at Rutland Intermediate School from 2006 to 2009. Before becoming a school administrator, Kristin taught Spanish at Rutland Middle School for five years, served as Program Coordinator for the Foundation for Excellent Schools, and taught Special Education for Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union.

Bill Olsen became Principal at Rutland High School in 2009. He taught social studies for sixteen years in Austria, Connecticut, Barstow Memorial School and Rutland High School. He was the Assistant Principal at Rutland Middle School for four years.

Andrea McQuade was born in Boston and grew up in western Massachusetts. She received a Bachelor’s degree from Trinity College in Washington, DC and a Master’s in Education from the University of Washington in Seattle. While attending Trinity College, she worked for the Athletic/Guidance Director of a local all boys’ high school and became interested in special needs children.

A Vermont native, Ted started his career in education as a teaching graduate assistant at Keene State College. For the past 31 years his breadth of experience ranges from being an Industrial Arts teacher at a 7-12 high school, a Building Construction Teacher, Assistant Vocational Director, Assistant High School Principal, Technical Center Director and presently the Assistant Director of Stafford Technical Center.

Diana Pfenning is the Director of the Tapestry Program serving Rutland City schools and the schools of the Rutland Central Supervisory Union. Tapestry provides after school activities and summer programs for students in grades Kindergarten through eighth grade. She was hired during the summer of 2000 to implement a significant grant received from the US Department of Education to establish programs to “Keep the Lights On” in schools during the afternoons and summers.
